LEK d.d. Ljubljana, Slovenia
For the Slovenian pharmaceutical manufacturer LEK, SSI Schäfer, in its capacity as general contractor, implemented two warehouse projects in Eastern Europe.
What´s special about the reference projects in the Polish town of Strykow near Lodz and the Slovenian town of Ljubljana is the following:
In addition to the adaptation to a germ- and dust-free system solution, an efficient control for the many overlapping material flows of rauw materials, semi-finished and finished products was to be implemented.
In Strykow alone, 1.5 billion pills and capsules are produced every year. The equipment includes two curve-going storage and retrieval machines (SRM) in each warehouse. With 24 double cycles per hour - with integrated collision prevention - they ensure efficient storage and retrieval processes.
All in all, the set objectives have been more than met. The management of LEK considers the production and logistics center in Strykow "a project of the 21st century".
